SIGHTSEEING

There are plenty of opportunities for sightseeing with the entire family. In the area, we have the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive.

In Staunton there are the Frontier Culture Museum and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library.

In Charlottesville you will find the estate of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello. If you have not seen Monticello, it is well worth taking a day to visit it. You and your family will simply be amazed and impressed by the tour.

A half mile away from Monticello is Michie Tavern. This tavern is over 200 years old and is a look into the past. Again, well worth the tour. Usually folks can see Monticello and Michie Tavern in the same day if they arrive early to Monticello and then go to Michie Tavern.

Hotels, Restaurants and Theaters

There is a very nice digital theater in Waynesboro.

ZEUS Theaters

Within 5 minutes of the field there are plenty of restaurants and hotels, a Super Walmart, Target, pharmacies and ample shopping centers. If you need hardware or other parts, there is a Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware store. We have a fine fire and rescue department and the hospital is about 10 minutes away.

Restaurants abound in the hotel and shopping area. You will find an all-you-can eat KFC ( biggest KFC buffet you have probably ever seen ), Wendy’s, Panera Breads, Plaza Azteca, Outback Steakhouse, Ruby Tuesday’s, Chick-fil-A and McDonalds. There is a StarBucks in the Target store and a Starbucks between KFC and 7-11. You won’t go hungry or thirsty while here.
